Below is a portion of the report that I gave to the PCRC and the Board recently. It outlines some of my initial thoughts and priorities for ministry. I hope you will be in touch with me if you have Pastoral needs or feedback concerning the ministry at FCC. Also, I appreciate your graciousness in continuing to help me learn your names

Goals

Develop relationships with the members.

· Learn the names of all active members by Oct 15.

· Visit all shut-ins in the next two weeks.

· Meet with each elder and committee leader by Sept 30.

Assess the overall condition of the congregation.

· Listen to members concerning how they feel about FCC.

· Identify areas of strength and pride.

· Identify areas for growth.

· Find out how people have fun around here!

Identify and develop leaders.

· Engage the nominating process and provide training for

         Elders and Deacons.

· Identify potential leaders other than Elders and establish a Leadership Development class.

Develop, over time, the spiritual depth and Biblical appreciation of the congregation.

· Emphasis on biblical literacy and prayer life of leaders.

· Emphasis on spiritual formation as part of family life rather than as solely the responsibility of children’s and youth programs.

Develop further the concern to look outward in doing ministry.

· Emphasis on each member finding ways of living out Christ’s call to be servants of others.

· Development of outreach opportunities for members.

· Identification of “signature” outreach program for which the congregation is known.
